This meditation is composed of visualizations and prayers. The prayers have been taken from actual Yoruba prayers that have been translated into English. This meditation has been designed to help you connect more closely with your Ori (personal godhead). Ori, literally meaning "head," refers to one's spiritual intuition and destiny. It is the reflective spark of human consciousness embedded into the human essence, and therefore is often personified as an Orisha in its own right. It is the first Orisha one should be interested in getting to know and develop a relationship with before any other Orisha. Ori guides us to have a balanced character, function from our connection to our higher mind. In Yoruba tradition, when one has a balanced character, one obtains one's highest destiny. Alignment with one's Ori brings, to the person who obtains it, inner peace and satistaction with life. To come to know the Ori is, essentially, to come to know oneself which is the more important of all spiritual endeavors. All the sacred ceremonies and things of importance are first opened with propitiating, honoring and asking for the blessings of the Divine Messenger of Transformation and then closed with thanking him.
